18 June 2014 - 18:03 - Psalm 1: Worthy of Delight �The proper study of God�s elect is God; the proper study of a Christian is the Godhead. The highest science, the loftiest speculation, the mightiest philosophy, which can every engage the attention of a child of God, is the name, the nature, the person, the work, the doings, and the existence of the Great God whom he calls Father.� -Charles Spurgeon (emphasis mine) This excellent quote is a reminder of why I'm looking at the Psalms in order to learn about God. In my last entry I began looking at Psalm 1 to see what it reveals about God. I noticed specifically how it reveals God to be a God who gives us nourishing instructions. Notice also that these instructions are worthy of delight and meditation day and night (v. 2). Has anyone ever delighted in the instructions to build something, or spent both night and day meditating on them? God�s instructions alone are worthy of such delight and meditation. What does this tell us about God�s awesomeness!? He is indeed an awesome God who gives instruction that are worthy of delight. Let's praise Him and delight in Him more for being such a God who gives delightful instructions! Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, Previous ..............................
